With over 30 years of experience leading negotiations across industries and countries, he brings a steady hand and a practical approach to mediation. At SAS Institute Inc., he directed a global legal team and managed contract negotiations in more than 50 countries. Whether the issue involved compliance, business expansion, or high‑stakes agreements, his role was to help parties find common ground and move forward.

After his corporate work, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Zoe Empowers, a global nonprofit equipping orphaned and vulnerable youth to overcome poverty. Earlier in his career, he served as General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Raima Corporation, where he developed expertise in intellectual property law.

In addition to his corporate and non-profit leadership, John has many years of experience representing plaintiffs in personal injury cases. His practice spans medical malpractice, automobile and train collision litigation, contract disputes and trip‑and‑fall cases against major corporations. This background gives him deep insight into the human impact of disputes and the importance of fair, compassionate resolution.

Today, he applies those same skill sets to mediation. Clients appreciate his ability to listen carefully, understand each side’s priorities, and help create solutions that feel fair and balanced. John holds a juris doctor degree from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is a licensed pilot, a volunteer at North Carolina’s Central Prison, and an avid Ultimate Frisbee player and coach.
